Champions of Service Award
Prentiss Powell an Olla resident was honored as being the Central Region Champion for his volunteer service to the Centennial Cultural Center (CCC) in Olla for the past five years teaching science experimentation camps for kids. Mr. Powell was selected from a record number of award applicants from the following parishes: LaSalle, Sabine, Natchitoches, Vernon, Winn Grant, Rapides, Avoyelles, Catahoula, and Concordia.
Director of Volunteer Services Lori Pilley said Powell is making a difference in town of Olla through his sharing his knowledge and love of science and for this reason and more their committee of commissioners selected him as the Central Region Champion.
Mr. Powell was honored at an awards event hosted by Lt. Governor Billy Nungessor on May 24, 2022 in Baton Rouge.
